Innovating Fusion Plasma Confinement Solutions
Alcutor Research Project, we aim to develop a new method for thermonuclear plasma confinement using advanced alternating current drive of high temperature plasma and automated control systems for enhanced stability and efficiency in toroidal reactors. This method provide better control and heating of plasma compared with currently DC pulse method used in tokamak devices.

New Plasma Control Strategy
Utilizing alternating current for enhanced stability in toroidal reactors. This current will create an alternating poloidal magnetic field around plasma column. This alternating poloidal magnetic field together with a specially designed conductive shell will completely change the plasma behaviour and improve stability.


Advanced Instabilities Suppression
The helicoidal magnetic field lines and their change of direction of rotation around the plasma column from one half period to the next. This is creating an on going variable magnetic geometry that will discourage the growing of instabilities, while completely suppress some types of instabilities like the current filamentation and other resistive instabilities. It will also increse significantly the joule heating of plasma by the induced current.
